OOC:

Shortly describe 5 laws or behaviors that officers in the U.S. have to follow:

Use of Force continuum:

Officers should only use the necessary force required in order to control a situation, deadly force is only to be used if there is an imminent threat to the officer or surrounding civilians.

Duty to Intervene:

Officers are required to intervene if they happen to witness another officer using an excessive amount of force.

Miranda Rights:

Officers are required to inform a suspect of their rights upon making an arrest or engaging in an interrogation.

Constitutional Rights:

Officers must respect the constitutional rights of all individuals, this includes the right to remain silent, and the right against unreasonable searches.

Proper Identification:

Officers must always properly identify themselves as officers of the law when publicly interacting, especially during arrests and searches.

Why do you want to join Echoes’ police faction?:

I’ve always had an interest in police and law enforcement positions, and have wanted to join a department in a roleplay server since I found my first one in 2022, though I never brought myself to attempt an application until Echoes, also making the first character I’ve had with a proper lore for the department.

.

What would you do if you accidentally broke a law, and someone began to argue with you OOC?:

I’d ask which law they believed I had broken, ask if they had proof of what they were claiming, if there was then I’d acknowledge my mistake, apologize and continue on with my duties.

If someone was insulting you OOC for not following a common law (such as reading their rights)  what would you do/say?:

Kindly let them know there’s no reason to be hostile as I’m simply doing my job but if they believe anything was improperly done then they are free to DM me any proof once we’re done and that I do apologize if I did forget anything.

What do you do if you arrest someone? Be short, but detailed:

After properly stopping and securing them I would get identification, search them for any weapons or things of that sort and then read them their rights as I handcuff them, making sure they understand and acknowledge their rights. After this is done I’d escort them over to their cell.

If someone is behaving strangely, as if they were using illegal substances, what do you do?:

I would observe from afar, watching for any strange behavior while also ensuring they aren’t endangering anyone around them, upon confirming their strange behavior I would calmly approach and question them, performing a breathalyzer test, if there was no indication of alcohol usage then I would detain them for questioning and further testing.

If someone will not give you their identity and you don’t have probable cause, what do you do?:

If I don’t have probable cause then they aren’t required to provide identification.

If someone refuses to identify themselves because of the 5th amendment, but you have probable cause, what do you do?:

I would calmly inform them that they must at the very least provide identification as I do have reasoning to request such, providing the reasoning if asked, I would then inform them that if they do not provide it then they can be arrested for obstruction of justice.

Provide us with your character’s backstory. Please attempt to limit yourself to more-or-less 1,500 words (maximum 2,500):

Isaiah Romanov was born March 23rd, 1956 to Alexander Romanov and Tiffany Sinclair in Philadelphia, PA. Growing up he had a younger sister, Iris Romanov-Sinclair.

During his teenage years, a few days after his 15th birthday someone broke into their home while he and his mother were there alone while his father and sister were out. Isaiah then jumped onto the intruders back in an attempt to keep him away from his mother, leading to him being stabbed in his left eye, due to this he fainted, waking up he faded in and out, blurry images of his bleeding out mother who lay a few feet in front of him, he heard the door open and then his fathers voice as he faded out again, vaguely hearing the sound of sirens outside their home. He was then lifted, rushed to the hospital where they had to perform an Enucleation. His mother unfortunately passed during this, and this very incident is what brought him to wanting to become an officer himself.

Later on in his early adult years, going through college he met Dolly Charlottes who became a close friend of his, and later his girlfriend. They studied together and hung out often, after they’d finished college they decided to marry, later moving to East Falls in Wyoming. Isaiah decided that this would be where he pursued his career as an officer, especially with all the crime going on in the town.
