Preferred Name:

My preferred name is Mircegg.

IGN (In-game name):

My IGN is Mircegg. I have an alternative account and it's username is Mircegg2.

Discord:

My Discord is mircegg.

Age (optional):

I am 15 years old.

OOC:

Shortly describe 5 laws or behaviors that officers in the U.S. have to follow:

1. Officers have to inform suspects of their right to remain silent and to an attorney when in custody and before interrogation.

2. Officers have to use force that is reasonable and proportional to the threat or resistance they face, as outlined by department policies and court rulings.

3. Officers need probable cause and, in many cases, a warrant to search private property, protecting against unreasonable searches.

4. Officers must respect legal rights throughout the arrest and investigation process, ensuring fairness under the law.

5. Officers are prohibited from discriminatory practices based on race, gender, religion, or other protected characteristics under civil rights law.

Why do you want to join Echoes’ police faction?:

I want to join the Echoes 1984 Police Faction because I’ve previously served as an officer on another Minecraft server, and I enjoyed the experience. I miss the roleplay aspect, and I would love to return to it by joining this server as an officer. PoliceRP is one of my favorite types of roleplay, and I'm excited to bring back the fun I had in the past.

What would you do if you accidentally broke a law, and someone began to argue with you OOC?:

If I broke a law and someone began to argue with me out of character (OOC), I would try to remain calm to avoid escalating the situation or saying something that could result in a warning or punishment. I would explain my perspective and apologize if necessary. If they seem satisfied after our discussion, I would return to the roleplay. If not, I would involve a staff member or a higher-up in the EFPD and explain the situation to them. I would also report them to a staff member.

If someone was insulting you OOC for not following a common law (such as reading their rights)  what would you do/say?:

I prefer to stay calm and not engage in arguments, as I like to keep things relaxed. If a situation arises where I've forgotten to do something, I would apologize and explain my oversight. If I had to arrest someone but decided not to press any charges, I would clarify that I am not required to read them their rights since I am not questioning them. However, if they continue to complain, I might call a supervisor for assistance. If the person is behaving inappropriately or is toxic, I would report their behavior to a staff member.

What do you do if you arrest someone? Be short, but detailed:

When I am going to arrest someone, I first check the CCTV footage or, if I witness the crime being committed, that serves as sufficient proof to bring them in. If I don’t see the crime myself, I would ask witnesses for their accounts. Once I locate the suspect, I would instruct them to lean against the wall by commanding them to do so. After that, I would place handcuffs on them and transport both the suspect and the witnesses to the police department. At the station, I would question both parties. If the suspect becomes aggressive, I would keep them in a holding cell and conduct the questioning from outside the cell. During the interrogation, I would read them their rights and inform them whether they are being arrested, as well as outline the charges against them. After this, I would check if the suspect wants to have a mug shot taken. If they had attacked me previously, I would call for backup to assist with taking the mug shots. Finally, I would post the mug shot in the appropriate Discord channel.

If someone is behaving strangely, as if they were using illegal substances, what do you do?:

If someone is acting strangely and appears to be under the influence of illegal substances, I would first speak with any witnesses to gather information about what they observed. After that, I would try to remain calm and engage the individual in conversation to see if they would disclose anything. Next, I would check for any smells or signs of smoke. I would then ask them to get against the wall while continuing to maintain my composure. After ensuring their safety and well-being, I would take them to the hospital for a check-up to make sure they are okay. Following the medical evaluation, I would bring them to the police department and allow them to rest. Once they wake up, I would begin questioning them, making sure to inform them of their rights. I would also review CCTV footage or ask witnesses to explain what happened. Based on this information, I would decide whether they should be arrested. If not, they would be free to leave; however, if an arrest is warranted, I would inform them of the charges and take their mugshot. Finally, I would post the mugshot in the appropriate Discord channel.

If someone will not give you their identity and you don’t have probable cause, what do you do?:

If they wouldn't provide me with their identity, I would ensure that I had probable cause to take further action. If they had a mask on, I would search them. However, if they were carrying a bat and there was no blood on it, I would let them go, since what they were doing is not a crime and is not illegal. If I suspected that their name and information were false, I would attempt to obtain their real information. If they still refused to give me any details, I would leave them alone and tell them to have a great day.

If someone refuses to identify themselves because of the 5th amendment, but you have probable cause, what do you do?:

If I have probable cause and someone has committed a crime, I would first ask them to lean against the wall, as is standard procedure. After that, I would take them to the station for questioning or to search for evidence. I would also bring in witnesses to see if they could provide any additional information. If I still could not determine the suspect's identity, I would proceed to charge them with the appropriate offenses. Finally, I would take their mug shot and share it on Discord, as I usually do.

Provide us with your character’s backstory. Please attempt to limit yourself to more-or-less 1,500 words (maximum 2,500):

Sergio was born in Puebla, Mexico, into a big, loving family that had nine siblings, along with his mother and father. He was the middle child, right in the middle of the family with five brothers and three sisters. Sergio's life was full of noise, love, and the beautiful chaos of a big home from the start.

When he was born, something strange happened he didn't cry at first for a few seconds. His mother looked at him in horror, his father frozen beside her, and his siblings anxiously waiting. They all held their breath. But then, finally, he cried with a strong, loud wail that filled the room. It was a moment of horror turned into relief, and from that moment, Sergio's life was deeply cherished.

By the time he was two, Sergio was an active and curious child. He used to see his older brothers running out in the evenings to play soccer, while his sisters stayed indoors chatting and reading books. Sergio would be by the window, looking on with longing eyes. He begged his parents to let him go outside and play with the boys.

"You're too small, mi amor," his mother would gently tell him. "When you are four, you can go."

Sergio thought that was completely unfair. Two years was a lifetime. But he was a determined child, so he decided he would wait. As he counted off the days until his fourth birthday, he kept himself busy in his own little world. He helped his mother cook and bake, stirring huge bowls of masa and sneaking bits of dough when she was not looking. He'd go upstairs and lie down on the floor while his sisters read story after story to him. He felt special and loved in those moments despite not yet being permitted to play football.

The night before his fourth birthday finally arrived, and Sergio could barely sleep for excitement. Tomorrow, he knew, would be a different world. For the first time in his life, he would be allowed to go out and play with his brothers. It was true that he had no football of his own, and no, he did not really know how to play, but he did not care. Being part of it was enough.

On the morning of his birthday, Sergio jumped out of bed and ran to the kitchen, where his parents greeted him with hugs and smiles. "We got you a present," his father said with a smile. "You'll get it after we cut the cake."

He waited throughout the day, barely managing to hold himself back during the birthday party. When the time came, and they cut the cake, his parents brought out a large, wrapped box. His heart skipped a beat. He tore it open and inside was… a brand new football. Sergio's eyes gleamed. He clutched the ball to his chest like treasure, gulped down his slice of cake, and ran outside as fast as he could.

Out in the field where his brothers were playing, Sergio stood with his new ball, unsure of what to do. Was he supposed to throw it? Use his hands? He started punching it in the air like it was a balloon. His brothers, who were across the field, burst into laughter.

"Dude, that's not how you play!" one shouted, doubled over.

"Just sit and watch for the meantime," spoken by another.

But Sergio would have none of that. "No! I want to play!" he exclaimed, ball in hand.

Reluctantly, they agreed. Captains were picked, and sides were chosen. When it came time to pick Sergio, there was a small argument, no one really wanted to be burdened with the little boy who didn't even know the rules. It stung, but Sergio brushed it off. He just wanted to fit in.

The game started. It was Sergio and his brothers against another family from the neighborhood. The other side had more players, but his brothers did not care they were competitive and feisty. The first 20 minutes went by without a goal. Sergio did not even have the chance to touch the ball. He ran around frantically, trying to tackle or intercept, but his small size was a handicap. He'd fall, scrape his knees, and get pushed down, but he'd keep getting up again.

By the 50th minute, his side was leading 5–3. Sergio had not done anything at all, and yet he was running around like a lunatic, lost and desperate. Then magic happened. The ball rolled directly to him. Time froze. His brothers yelled something, but he didn't hear it. He kicked the ball with every ounce of strength he had. It flew towards the goal and the other keeper, smiling pleasantly, let it in.

GOAL.

Sergio stood frozen. He had scored in his very first game.

His brothers ran toward him, cheering and laughing. They lifted him into the air, chanting his name. It was one of the happiest moments of his young life. Forty minutes later, his team had won, 8–5. He went home that night with dirty knees, a sweaty shirt, and the widest smile you’d ever seen.

A year later, Sergio started school. He was a bit nervous but raring to go. He had also gotten a bit better at football though still not as good as his brothers. His older brothers and sisters gave him advice on his first day.

"If anyone bothers you," one brother said, "you just let us know."

"And if you ever need any advice about girls," one of his sisters said with a grin, "you know who to ask."

Sergio blushed. “I’ll never get a girlfriend!” he said, embarrassed. Everyone laughed, teasing him until he ran out the door.

At the age of eight, Sergio started disliking school. It was dull, the same thing day in and day out, and the kids could be mean. Some of his older brothers had now joined the Mexican Army or were training to be officers. Whenever anyone asked Sergio what he wanted to be when he grew up, he always said the same thing: "I want to be an officer."

By the time Sergio was twelve, he was preparing to go to high school. He was excited but nervous, he had been bullied a bit at school. Kids teased him and sometimes took his books. One day, while this was happening, his older brother had come to pick him up and saw the entire ordeal.

"Hey!" he yelled, standing over the group of bullies. "Leave him alone."

Once they saw who it was, Sergio’s much older, much bigger brother, they scattered like ants. Sergio thanked him, and his brother smiled. “It’s nothing. I’d do anything for you.”

At thirteen, Sergio began to think more seriously about his future. He told his parents he had an idea: he wanted to attend military school in the United States. It sounded crazy, but they didn’t dismiss it. They said they’d think about it.

Then, one day when Sergio was fourteen, his parents called him into the kitchen.

"We applied for you," his father said. "And you got in."

Sergio's heart raced. He was going to the U.S.

It was the furthest he'd ever be from home. He was afraid, but also excited. He promised his family that he would write every day.

By the age of sixteen, Sergio had adjusted to life in America. He was working and even going out with a girl he had met at school. She was nice and funny, and when he invited her out to be his girlfriend, she accepted. But he did not spend much time with her, he was constantly studying and working. They would only meet on weekends, and not even always.

At seventeen, she broke up with him. “You’re never around,” she said gently. It hurt, but Sergio took it like a man. He focused on school, worked harder, and got moved up a grade.

Now in his last year of high school, he was already plotting his future. He wanted to hold a bachelor's degree in criminal justice. The only drawback was the distance from his family he missed them more than he admitted. But because he could not afford to visit, he stayed in America, trying not to think about home.

Sergio started college when he was eighteen. He went to criminal justice full time and worked graveyard shifts so that he could afford living costs. He hated the graveyard shifts but was determined. "I will be an officer," he told himself, over and over.

His diet consisted mainly of energy drinks and fast food it wasn't healthy, but it kept him awake. Despite all of this, he actually did pretty well in college.

He had graduated by the time he was twenty two. He was proud. He wanted to celebrate by working for a year, then moving to Mexico until he was twenty seven. After that, he would return to the U.S. but this time to East Falls, where he heard the police department was short staffed.

It appeared the whole department had been invaded by a swarm of individuals lately. Sergio believed he could join the scene and make a change. Possibly a community officer or even start off as a cadet. He moved back home, where all of his siblings were now adults, and spent the next four years relaxing, rediscovering, and playing football again, only this time with his brothers and parents.

At twenty seven, he asked his parents for some money to return to the U.S. They gave him just enough for the trip but not for housing. So he made a hard choice, he would live on the streets for a while and work as a delivery driver to get by.

And that is where his saga stands for now.

Sergio currently lives in East Falls, still dreaming of joining the EFPD. He may not have everything in his life sorted out yet, but one thing is for sure he hasn't given up.

IC:

A short message would be here. It read, “Howdy! Thank you for applying to our police department here in East Falls! Please fill out the form and turn it in.

Name:

My name is Sergio Chicote.

Age:

I am 27 years old.

Education (HS Diploma, GED, etc.):

GED Test Score: 175

Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice

Why do you want to be an officer for our community?:

I wish to become a police officer because I was recently inspired by an incident in which many officers were attacked, and several batons were stolen by a group of individuals. I want to help prevent such attacks in the future. While I can’t promise that I will be able to stop all crime, I am committed to doing my best. Becoming an officer has been my dream since I was a child, especially since many members of my family are either soldiers or police officers. I genuinely hope to make a positive impact and help in any way I can.

Have you had any previous training or teaching in our academy?

No previous police training, but my brothers have thought me a bit but I went to a military school if that helps and have a bachelors degree in Criminal Justice.

What responsibilities do you hold as a police officer?

As a police officer, my responsibilities are to serve the community impartially, protect every resident of East Falls, and arrest those who commit crimes or attempt to do so. I am also tasked with ensuring the safety of all citizens and taking action against anyone who threatens that safety or hinders my efforts to protect the community.

Do you plan on advancing our staff hierarchy?

While I aspire to advance in the staff hierarchy, I am content with my current rank. My main priority is protecting the community.

Another message was placed here: “Last question.. this one is optional:  what’s our real motto?:”

"To protect and serve."
