I’ve been passionate about building in Minecraft for over 10 years and love the creative opportunities the game offers. Joining the Echoes building team excites me because it’s a chance to work alongside talented builders and contribute to impressive and meaningful projects. I enjoy collaborating with others, learning new techniques, and pushing the boundaries of my skills to create immersive worlds that players can explore and enjoy. Echoes seems like the perfect environment to challenge myself creatively and make a lasting impact on the community.

What do you think could be improved of the current server’s builds?:

The server’s builds already capture the 1984 setting effectively, but there’s always room to enhance the sense of immersion. I believe more attention could be given to details that reflect the era, like incorporating period-specific architecture, signage, and subtle storytelling elements in the environment. Additionally, I’ve noticed that certain areas of the map could benefit from more polish or expansion to feel complete. I’d love to contribute by helping to finish these areas, ensuring the map has a cohesive and authentic feel while creating spaces that fully support the roleplay experience.

Why do you want a business on Echoes: 1984?:

I trust that opening this business on Echoes: 1984 Would be the most amazing yet a wonderful path in a successful roleplay experience. I have always thought of opening a business in my past experiences of being in a roleplay server but never gotten the chance to open or own one that is why I am here. I trust on my business idea that It will bring people together and create a space where everyone gather. It would be a very interesting to see people interact and make this business flourish and get the opportunity to provide people a place to roleplay and communicate.

What will your business sell and/or do?

Echoes's Café isn’t just a business; it’s a social hub. It fosters roleplay opportunities, encourages collaboration, and creates memorable moments within the Echoes: 1984 world. Players can refuel their energy, connect with others, and engage with the game’s narrative while enjoying a uniquely immersive space.

Provide the lore of your character, and how they came to open a business. Please attempt to limit yourself to more-or-less 1,500 words (maximum 2,500):

Leo Hester was raised in a slum in some small, forgotten corner of the city, where time passed so slowly you could hear the wheels turning. He was born in 1962 and spent much of his childhood roaming the alleys of a moribund downtown, where neon signs hummed faintly and jukeboxes still provided the music of yesteryear. His parents ran a struggling diner that served blue-collar workers and dreamers alike. There, with the reassuring scents of coffee and pancakes in the air, Leo was taught the importance of community and the warmth of shared spaces.

By the time Leo reached his teen years, the 1980s were in full swing, and the world beyond his bubble was undergoing rapid change. Technology was advancing, corporate greed was increasing, and the sweet pleasures of small-town life felt like they were in decline. Lend some relief in music, art and the fledgling counterculture, which embraced the idea of being unique. He amassed vinyl records, painted abstract designs on the walls of his bedroom, and even learned how to tattoo, turning his friends’ skin into canvases for his art.

When his parents’ diner finally shut its doors in 1984, it was the end of an era. Developers bought the building, and Leo’s family moved on, but he stayed, unable to shake the memories he still associated with that space. He held odd jobs — bartender, mechanic, freelance artist — but he always dreamed of bringing back what his parents had begun.

The Birth of Echoes’s Café

A chance encounter in the summer of 1984 altered Leo’s fate. One day, during a roam through an abandoned warehouse district, he came across a crumbling structure that seemed oddly familiar. An old sign above the door said “Echoes of Yesterday Antiques.” The shelves were covered in dust, but the nostalgic treasures — typewriters, vinyl records and retro furniture — inspired an idea.

This was exactly what Leo saw — the opportunity to create something unique for his generation, a restaurant that paid homage to the nostalgia of his parents’ diner while infusing it with the creative energy of the people of his generation. He spent months remodeling the building, salvaging vintage décor and creating an experience that in many ways felt like a step into a time capsule. He named it Echoes’s Café, after the shop that had inspired him and the memories he wanted to preserve.

What Echoes’s Café Stands For

Echoes’s Café was not only a coffee shop, it was a haven for dreamers, rebels, and anyone searching for a sense of belonging. The menu was simple but sincere, consisting of darkly rich coffee, homemade pastries and a rotating selection of retro snacks. Leo’s artwork and old photographs were plastered on the walls, and a pasteboard sign hung above the record player that stood in a corner of the café, to allow customers to spin their favorite tunes.

The café also gave a stage to events — poetry readings, live music, art shows — and became, for the community, a kind of cultural hub. For Leo, it was not about making money; it was about preserving the spirit and creating a space for people to connect through commonly shared experiences.

Leo’s Odyssey in the Land of Echoes: 1984

Throughout Echoes: 1984, the café emerged as an integral piece of the game’s storyline. Leo’s past as a tattoo artist and gift for repairs made him an asset to many factions, and the café itself was neutral ground for meetings, trades, and back-channel whispers. Leo's tattoos, they all tell a story, a history of his life and the bonds he had created, or worlds he had been part of, each new piece representing a chapter, an experience and a part of his life.

Leo knew that his business wouldn't be easy to run in a world marked by strife, but he was undeterred. A man of few words but deep convictions, his café was a testament to the idea that, even in the most challenging of times, beauty could be found in human connection and the reflections of the past.

Legacy of Echoes’s Café

Leo’s shop became a haven of strength, where everyone could forget the world and find the sense of what truly mattered. With time, they have adapted to the services offered and have provided patrons with something beyond coffee and discussions. Whether as a refuge for a weary traveler, or the setting for a key event in the overarching story of Echoes: 1984, the Echoes’s Café always served as a symbol of light in the dark world of the game. 

What would you do if someone came into your place of business and began to cause trouble OOC?

Any OOCLY problem would not be taken lightly. Any individual will be warned by myself or any one of the Cafe's staff members. If the issue couldn't follow a clear warning, I would contact any active staff member for assistance in the matter to help minimize the amount of problem or trouble it would cause my customers or my staff members.

What would you do if someone came into your place of business and began to cause trouble IC?

If someone would to create or cause a problem/issues in the Café in-character, Leo would immediately go and calm down the individual from causing any more problem. While Leo will be calm and lightly request them to calm down or leave the establishment or else anymore disruption to the environment will be taken by force.

How would your business greet and provide service to customers (e.g. “Hello! What will you be getting today? *The man began to click into the register, getting ready to serve the customer.*)?:

*Leo would smile and greet them* ''Welcome to Echoes's Cafe, What would you like to have?'' *As a group of girls walked into the Café and sat down close to the windows with some plants while most of them are talking and laughing one of the girl in the group would walk up to the counter and said* ''Yes! well can we have 2 Iced Coffee and a cappuccino?'' *Beaming with a smile as he said* ''Amazing choices! I will be right on, Please have a seat we will bring it right out for you'' *Said as he finish noting the order down and start brewing the coffee*
