Shortly describe 5 laws or behaviors that officers in the U.S. have to follow:

1.
In the USA officers have to follow the use of force policy as they can ONLY use force that is reasonable/necessary. As excessive force is prohibited and unneeded as officers are almost always trained to only use the needed force.

2.
Another law officers have to follow is the duty to intervene. Officers are almost always expected to intervene if other officers are happening to commit crimes. This holds up integrity and makes sure no one is corrupt inside the force.

3.
Bias free policing is when officers are required to carry out the law NO MATTER what as turning the other way is strictly prohibited.

4.
Miranda rights are once again another needed law to follow when roleplaying out as a US officer. This means when you're arresting a suspect you must read them their rights all the time.

5.
Lastly the duty to provide proper medical service. If medical is needed to be given to a suspect/criminal as an officer you MUST provide that proper service to the suspect.

Why do you want to join Echoes’ police faction?:
Inside of Echoes' I don't really have much of a reputation but when I first joined I made sure I properly followed the rules and had a decently fun time roleplaying on the server. As a few weeks passed by I grew a little busy in the hunt for jobs and other real life things until only a couple weeks ago. These couple weeks ago I got some more free time on my hands and have fully decided to apply to become an officer on the Echoes' Minecraft roleplay server. In other servers I have done police shenanigans and overall just know what I'm doing when it comes to American based policing. Being on the front lines against the criminal faction is not only fun but a learning experience in my roleplay journey. I believe if I were to be accepted I'd be a great asset to the Echoes' police faction!

What would you do if you accidentally broke a law, and someone began to argue with you OOC?:
If a valid reason is there for why I had broken a law then I would most likely give a quick explanation and continue with RP. If I didn't have a proper reason I'd refer them to my DMs so the roleplay situation can continue whilst we still chat about the situation. Sadly if the situation escalates and continues they would then be sent to a staff member as I don't like handling major OOC toxicity or anything along those lines. If need be I'd also add an apology and make sure its sincere if I am in the wrong.

If someone was insulting you OOC for not following a common law (such as reading their rights)  what would you do/say?:
Of course I would firstly sincerely apologize for my mistake and then decide to ask them if they'd like to void the situation, if they say no and continue to argue with me OOCly I would ask a staff member to come handle the situation if needed. If they decide not to and don't argue then we'd continue the situation ICly and make sure everything else is roleplayed out properly from there on and in the future.

What do you do if you arrest someone? Be short, but detailed:
Before I even arrest the suspect I need to make sure I have my proper proof and needed evidence to make sure that an arrest is needed. After I had got the previous I would then quickly cuff the suspect and read them out their proper Miranda Rights. Once the rights have been read they would then be given a proper pat down and made sure that they do not have anything they shouldn't have. If an interrogation is needed I would then get a detective to do as such due to me as a cadet not being properly qualified for that. During the full arresting process I would make sure not only their rights are read but also their charges.

If someone is behaving strangely, as if they were using illegal substances, what do you do?:
I need to make sure I have proper suspicion before I go ahead and follow through with ANYTHING. First I would walk up the individual and see if I can get a scent from them, if I smelt said scent I'd maybe offer a conversation or see what else I could pick up from them. I'd then request to search them even though they are allowed to refuse, if they decide to say yes and I find the illegal substance I would remove the substance and then read them their rights and then send them off on their way to jail. If not I would offer the proper breathalyzer test and put them through all of those steps. :D

If someone will not give you their identity and you don’t have probable cause, what do you do?:
Theres not a whole lot an officer can do without probable cause if they do not want to give me their identity. After all as an officer of the law I have to uphold the law no matter what even against myself.

If someone refuses to identify themselves because of the 5th amendment, but you have probable cause, what do you do?:
In this situation I would do the usual and instead add another charge onto them as they decided to not provide me with their identity. I always want to make sure I uphold the law against myself too so this should be always dealt with properly.

Provide us with your character’s backstory. Please attempt to limit yourself to more-or-less 1,500 words (maximum 2,500):
Jeremiah was born and raised in Los Angelos, California, here he grew up with the dream of serving and overall being a protector for his community. As time grew so did he dreams as in junior year of high school his dream turned into becoming a lawyer. As this dream continued he then went to school for criminal justice learning all about how the world of law, justice, and order worked. Once Fisher was twenty-three a shoot-out happened around his current place of residency that sadly he was caught in, quickly officers came in saving Jeremiah from whatever impending doom could've happened to him. This idea that Fisher had of becoming a lawyer wasn't his "dream" being an officer of the law was. Jeremiah decided that he WOULD become a cop and that he wouldn't decide to go down a lawyer path. Another year passed and the brunette just got his masters in criminal justice as he then applied to be an officer down at his nearby station in Los Angelos. After around a month of waiting he had heard back from them, "We're grateful to accept you, Jeremiah Fisher onto the force." Overall joy and happiness rushed through out Jerry as in no less than a week he was on the force. Day after day passed by and this dream was no longer just a dream but a reality, saving people, arresting bad guys, and taking criminals off the street was his day to day now. Jeremiah was truly happy in his life until a gun shot went directly through his upper shoulder. Everyone believed that this would be the end of Fisher's cop journey and was devastated to see him go on medical leave for a month or so but as soon as he arrived back he then was back on duty as if nothing happened. But something did happen the higher-ups saw that he needed to go to another area, and so he did. Jeremiah worked everyday in Chicago now, doing his usual from California here in Illinois. Everyday thug arrested, criminal behind bars, the usual he was ranking up almost everyday but it got the man bored so his higher-up then told him that he was being transferred to East Falls and now he's here putting in his application to make sure he is perfect for East Falls.
