How much do you know about first aid and general medicine?:
I have a solid understanding of first aid and general medicine, which includes basic techniques for responding to medical emergencies, assessing patient conditions, and providing initial care before professional help is available.
First aid knowledge:
- Basic life support: I can perform CPR on adults, children, and infants, recognizing the importance of chest compressions and rescue breaths in cardiac emergencies.
- Wound care: I understand how to clean and dress minor cuts, scrapes, and burns, as well as when to seek medical attention for more serious injuries.
- Choking relief: I am familiar with the Heimlich maneuver for adults and children.
- Recognizing Medical Emergencies: I can identify signs of serious conditions such as heart attacks, strokes, and allergic reactions, prompting timely intervention.
General knowledge:
Basic Anatomy and physiology: I have a foundational understanding of human anatomy, including major organ systems and their functions.
Common medical conditions: I am aware of various common illnesses and conditions, their symptoms, and general treatment approaches, including diabetes, hypertension, and asthma.
Infection control: I know the principles of hygiene, including handwashing and the use of personal protective equipment to prevent the spread of infections.
Give us 3 examples of injuries, and their resolution:
- Broken bones: Depending on the break of the bone and where, you would set the bone via hand. If the bone is broken clean, you can easily set it back in place, via hand. You would then bandage wrap the area, usually a limb or appendage, before setting it in a hard protective cast. If it’s messier, you would do an MRI and X-ray to see the extent of the damage. If it is a limb and the damage is too far gone, it will need to be cut off.
- Concussion: The normal process upon checking for a concussion is testing the patient's cognitive function. You would want to do a light test in the eyes, checking for blow pupils and if they are reactive to light as a whole. Concussions can be serious or nothing to worry about at all, that's why you want to take a head CT of the patient to check for any internal damage, brain bleeds, or swelling of the brain. You would also refrain from prescribing them medications such as Ibuprofen, Advil, Motrin, and aspirin, as they can cause a risk of bleeding.
- Psychotic episodes/Stitches: Some patients who have mental health issues can have psychotic breaks that can cause them to hurt themselves or others. You first want to keep yourself calm to keep the patient calm, talk it over before sedation becomes a necessity. You want to make sure the patient is calm before you try and get them the medication prescribed by a Psychiatrist. Once the patient is calm or if you had to use sedation, check over the injuries carefully; it's usually claw marks from their nails. Worst case scenario, they have had a weapon, say they dropped it, but already harmed themselves. Depending on the depth of the wound, you would clean it up and bandage it. If it is deeper, you would provide stitches on top of the bandaging. Before sending them to where they needed to be to get the mental help that is needed.
Why do you want to join the hospital faction on Echoes?
Joining the Clinic staff in East Falls is a unique opportunity that deeply resonates with my desire to make a meaningful impact in the community. The Clinic’s dedication to providing comprehensive health and more aligns perfectly with my passion for individuals.
I would thrive in a collaborative environment, working alongside others to address any medical issues. I would also like to put my skills that I have developed over the years to use.
How would you deal with someone who was FailRPing inside the hospital?
Give them 3 Warnings to act right before calling the staff.
Provide us with 2 somewhat detailed actions of your character helping an injured person. You can choose the injury or illness.
/me Quickly rushed to the man’s aid rolling them onto their side as they seized to prevent choking, then took off their coat placing it under his head to prevent further injury, as he waited for the seizure to stop “I NEED A CRASH CART, CLEAR MEDBAY 1- GET READY TO PUSH LARAZAPAM” He would help the patient into the med bay and help set up the heart monitor/IV and check his vitals “Let’s get a head CT for him please!”
/me Pressed his hands firmly against the stab wound, applying pressure to the area. Seeing he's working alone, he filled the wound with gauze temporarily, so he could hang an O blood bag and properly hook them up to the monitor. In the IV solution, he would slowly inject morphine before moving back to assess the stab wound, clearing it with saline to find and stop the bleed before cleaning and stitching the wound, finishing it with a bandage.
Provide us with your character’s backstory. Please attempt to limit yourself to more-or-less 1,500 words (maximum 2,500):
Maniauhe Kauhe was born into a tumultuous household in a small town in Lithuania, where early experiences shaped his remarkable resilience. His childhood was marred by instability; his father struggled with addiction, leading to a cycle of emotional and physical abuse that left deep scars. Despite this, Mani found solace in the world of science. His mother, a teacher, often encouraged curiosity and learning as a means of escape. Surrounded by the lush landscapes of Lithuania, he would often retreat into nature, dreaming of a life beyond his circumstances.
At the age of sixteen, after years of enduring hardship, Mani made the courageous choice to leave home. With only the belongings he could carry, he moved to a more urban area in search of better opportunities and a chance to escape his past. He worked diligently, often juggling multiple jobs while excelling academically. His passion for science flourished during these years, particularly in biochemistry, as he became fascinated by the molecular processes that underpin life.
After graduating from high school with honors, Mani earned a scholarship to attend Cornell University in the United States, a pivotal moment marking the beginning of his new life. At Cornell, he poured himself into his studies, obtaining a major in biochemistry and later on pursuing a Phd in forensic science. The field captivated him- he was drawn to the idea of using science to uncover the truth, solve crimes, and give victims a voice. His academic journey was fueled by a desire for knowledge and an aspiration to reshape his narrative and assist others who had suffered like he had.
As he delved deeper into forensic science, Mani recognized that his own experiences with trauma and abuse provided him with a unique perspective. Scientific inquiry became a method of healing, allowing him to process his childhood while empowering him to help others. He developed a passion for working with communities who felt vulnerable and underserved, determined to use his education to advocate for justice.
Upon completing his Ph.D. Mani dreamed of applying his skills in a practical setting that prioritized healing and support. He learned of the East Falls Clinic. He was particularly inspired by the clinic’s commitment to helping individuals navigate trauma and its dedication to forensic mental health.
Mani saw his future at the clinic as more than just a job; he envisioned it as a chance to create a safe space for those in need, particularly individuals struggling with their pasts. He wanted to combine his scientific expertise with a commitment to community healing, advocating for people who, like him, faced their battles in silence. His ambition was to bridge the gap between forensic science and mental health, ensuring that the scars of the past could lead to the light of understanding and support.
Now at 25, with a wealth of experience and empathy, Mani is determined to make a difference at the East Falls Clinic. He hopes to develop programs integrating forensic science with community health services, focusing on rehabilitation and support for victims and their families. Through his work, Mani aims to turn his painful past into a beacon of hope for others, demonstrating that healing is possible, and that it is the strength in vulnerability that truly enables change.

“Forensic Scientist, or Biochemist. Whichever you have, as long as I get to analyze things.”
Why do you want to work on our team?:
“I have a strong interest in both biochemistry and forensic science, as they are fields that intersect in fascinating ways. Biochemistry helps us understand the chemical processes and substances that occur within living organisms. This knowledge is crucial in many areas, including drug development, disease diagnosis, and understanding metabolic disorders. My fascination with the molecular mechanisms of life drives my desire to explore how biochemical principles can be applied to real-world problems.
On the other hand, forensic science utilizes scientific methods to assist in criminal investigations. Biochemistry plays a vital role in this field, especially in areas such as toxicology, DNA analysis, and the identification of substances found at crime scenes. The ability to link biochemical evidence to legal cases is compelling, as it helps reveal the truth and ensures justice is served.
Additionally, I thrive in collaborative environments and believe that interdisciplinary teamwork enhances the quality of care we provide. A Nurse provides direct care to patients, including administering medications, managing intravenous treatments, and assisting with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility.
A Surgeon conducts thorough evaluations of patients before surgery, reviewing medical histories, performing physical exams, and ordering necessary tests to determine the best surgical approach. “
Whilst in the hospital, how should you and your co-workers behave? If you see something wrong, what should you do about it?:
“While I am in the hospital, it is essential for both my co-workers and me to maintain a professional demeanor at all times. This includes being respectful, compassionate, and supportive toward patients and each other. Clear communication is crucial; I make sure to share important information and updates with my team to ensure everyone is on the same page regarding patient care. I also value teamwork, actively collaborating with my colleagues to provide the best care possible.
If I notice something wrong, such as a safety issue, a deviation from standard procedures, or a potential error in patient care, I understand the importance of addressing it promptly. First, I assess the situation to determine its severity. If it’s urgent, I will notify the appropriate medical staff immediately to rectify the problem. If it’s a less critical issue, I approach my supervisor or the responsible team member to discuss my concerns.”

Firstly, I am responsible for delivering high-quality patient care by assessing patients’ needs, administering treatments, and monitoring their conditions. This includes working closely with colleagues to create and implement individualized care plans. I am committed to working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and specialists, to ensure comprehensive care. This teamwork enhances patient outcomes and fosters a supportive working environment.”
How would you manage a patient who was being uncooperative or rowdy?:
"Managing an uncooperative or rowdy patient involves a calm and empathetic approach. First, asses the situation, communicate clearly and respectfully, then use techniques to help ease tension. After the situation is resolved, follow up to prevent future issues."
