Why do you want a business on Echoes: 1984?:
I believe that opening a business on Echoes: 1984 would be an extremely exciting and adventurous new path within my roleplay journey. I have always thought about opening a business in my past roleplay experiences in other servers but never had the perfect idea. However, I believe that I have crafted my ideal business idea/model and I have some other people who will be joining the server that would also be interested in helping me get the business off the ground and flourishing if we were to get the opportunity to do so. I also believe that this server provides many new opportunities and routes in roleplay that will better suit my ideal roleplay experience.

What will your business do/sell?:
Our business would be a retro high-scale Italian restaurant that has a wide variety of menu options. The restaurant would provide the perfect atmosphere for those distinguished individuals of the server, while also providing a wonderful once-in-a-lifetime experience for those who may not normally come to an establishment like this. Like one may assume, the restaurant would specialize in all areas of Italian cuisine. From the best pasta dishes that taste just like your great grandma’s to elegant Italian desserts, our menu would provide an option for everyone’s preferred taste.
Provide the lore for your character, and how they came to open a business. Please attempt to limit yourself to more-or-less 1,500 words (maximum 2,500 words):
Aurelio was born into a fully Italian lineage, making the stereotypical Italian lifestyle a reality for him as he grew up. For the majority of his life, he lived in Queens, New York; the place his family decided to settle down after making the trip from Porto Venere, Italy. His childhood was spent learning the basics of how to make fine Italian cuisine, as it would be his duty later in life to take over the family business when the time arrived. His special talent right from the start was his ability to make the best gnocchi out of his entire family. This became something he embraced, as he began to perfect his craft throughout his years helping run the family’s small-scaled restaurant in the city.
Outside of cooking, Aurelio took his schooling quite seriously. He was always towards the top of his class when it came to grades, although one may not have assumed this to be the case. Aurelio was also quite invested in soccer, as his family were huge fans of Genoa CFC. His original dream was to become a star player for his home country’s national team someday, but his dreams were dashed during his teen years when he saw the competition around him become significantly better than he was. With one career path down, he didn’t find another passion until he was about 14.
As he grew older, Aurelio was granted the option to take over a larger role in his family’s business. He’d learn how to cook an even larger variety of dishes from his family members, before beginning to take over some of the cooking for himself. As this became a theme, he grew more and more fond of this potential profession as he grew his knowledge at a rapid rate. He began to fall in love with the art of cooking, which even led to him beginning to do things such as cooking meals for less-fortunate individuals around the borough.
Once he began to reach the end of his high school years, he had to make a decision. He could either take over the business right when he graduated, or he could go to college and have the option of pursuing a separate career path. Instead of choosing one or the other, he decided to create a solution that blended the best of both worlds. He chose to attend Purdue University to pursue a degree in business management in order to be better prepared to take over the business and help it thrive in the future. He went through college with this goal in mind and it helped propel him to many highs and lows.
By the time he graduated with his degree, he faced an unfortunate circumstance in his life path. His father, the owner of their restaurant back in Queens, had passed away in his junior year of his undergraduate studies. Rather than let this prevent him from striving for his goals, it propelled him to graduate with high honors in his class. During his last year of school, his family also chose to move out of the city and closer to him to a place called East County. When he reunited with his family following graduation, he had the vision all laid out; a brand-new restaurant that brought back elements of his family’s old restaurant but also put a brand-new spin on the business model. This point in his venture could only begin with choosing the perfect name for his new establishment. To this point, he decided to name the family’s new restaurant “La Venere di Mare”.
What would you do if someone came into your place of business and began to cause trouble OOC?:
Any OOC trouble wouldn’t be taken lightly. The individual would be warned by myself or one of the other restaurant staff members. If the issue(s) continues following a clear warning, I would contact staff for assistance in the matter to help minimize the amount of trouble it would cause our customers and our staff.
What would you do if someone came into your place of business and began to cause trouble IC?:
If someone was to come into the restaurant and cause trouble in-character, Aurelio would immediately go to the area of the individual(s) causing the problem. While Aurelio doesn’t normally portray the role of the brute strength individual, in these cases he has a way of becoming more intimidating when it comes to people disrupting the environment of the establishment he cares about so dearly. If it came down to it, he wouldn’t hesitate to use slight physical force to escort the disturbances out of the restaurant.
How would your business greet and provide service to customers (e.g. “Hello! What will you be getting today? The man began to click into the register, getting ready to serve the customer.)?:
*As a couple walked into the restaurant, Aurelio would walk to the host’s desk and personally greet the customers* “Hello and welcome to La Venere di Mare! My name is Aurelio. Do you have a reservation with us tonight?” *One out of the pair would nod with a smile* “We reserved a table for 7:45.” *Aurelio would scan the reservation sheet and find the specific reservation he was looking for* “Right this way Mr. and Mrs. Johnston!” *He’d grab two menus from the side of the desk, before leading the pair into the dining room as he showed them to their table*
